Terms of Service

These terms cover the zterm software and this website. The software is zterm, a terminal for macOS, Linux and Windows, together with zc, the coordinator, and zspawn, the agent launcher, all made by Zestful, Inc. By installing the software or using the site you agree to them.

Licence

zterm is proprietary software. During the beta it is free for personal use and for evaluating it. We have not announced commercial pricing; when we do, we will say what changes and when. You may install the software on machines you control. You may not sell it, redistribute it, or offer it to others as a service.

Beta

The software is in beta. Features may change or be removed between releases, settings may need updating, and things may break. Run the install command again to upgrade in place, or use the beta channel described on the install page for the newest build.

Agents you run

zspawn launches third-party agents such as Claude Code or Codex. Those agents are governed by their own terms and are not part of our software. Anything an agent does on your machine, including through zterm's control API, happens under your account with the access you gave it. You are responsible for what you let agents do.

Your data

The software runs on your computer and keeps its data there. What it does with your data, and what this website collects, is set out in the privacy policy.

The website

If you give us your email for release news, we will use it for that and you can leave the list at any time. If you have an account on the Zestful dashboard, you are responsible for keeping its credentials secure.

Acceptable use

Do not use the software or the site to break the law, to interfere with other people's systems or data, or to disrupt the site for others. Do not try to work around the licence.

No warranty

The software and the site are provided as is, without warranty of any kind. To the extent the law allows, Zestful, Inc. is not liable for lost data, lost work, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from their use, including anything an agent does in your terminal.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top says when they last changed. Continuing to use the software or the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
